We discuss Kathryn Bigelow's wonderful vampire western Near Dark from 1987, which threw out the gothic rulebook for vampire films and brought them screaming into the 20th Century. We go through the story, characters, actors, themes and behind the scenes stories. We ask the big questions - would you want to be a vampire? How many times do they say the word "vampire" in the film? How would you react if you were hitchhiking and got picked up by Lance Henriksen in full character as Jessie?
